Chihiro Sings

Chihiro is a vocalist, lyricist, and bilingual creative specializing in musical expression through language.

Born in Japan and raised in Michigan, USA, she developed a deep sensitivity to both English and Japanese nuances from an early age.

With roots in gospel and soul music, her voice is known for its warmth, expressiveness, and subtle emotional depth.

She has collaborated with numerous artists and producers across genres, contributing vocals, English lyrics, and creative direction to a wide range of musical projects.

Her expertise lies not only in singing and songwriting, but in crafting natural, singable, and emotionally resonant English lyrics.

She is highly regarded for her ability to understand the background and intention of a piece, and translate it into language that truly connects with listeners.

In addition to her work as an artist, she is also active as a bilingual narrator and English director, working on commercial narrations, corporate projects, and sound branding, including long-term collaborations with major companies such as Panasonic.

She also leads her own artistic projects, including Chihiro Sings Tales, a unique fusion of music and storytelling, and murmuration, an experimental series exploring poetry and improvisation.

静岡県出身、アメリカ・ミシガン州育ち。幼少期より日英両言語のニュアンスに親しむ。

ゴスペルをルーツに持つソウルフルな歌声と、言葉のニュアンスを大切にした表現を強みとし、ジャンルを問わず多くのアーティスト作品に参加。

ヴォーカル、英語詞制作、作詞、ポエトリーリーディングなどを通して幅広く活動している。

「歌として自然に成立する英語詞」、作品の背景や感情を汲み取ったニュアンス重視の言葉づくりに定評があり、

アーティストやプロデューサーから高い評価を得ている。

また、バイリンガルナレーターおよび英語ディレクターとしても活動し、コマーシャルナレーション、企業PV、サウンドロゴ（Panasonic）など多数のプロジェクトに参加。近年では鉄道車内アナウンスなど音声表現の分野でも活躍の幅を広げている。

オリジナル作品として、朗読と音楽を融合したプロジェクト「Chihiro Sings Tales」、現代詩と即興音楽の可能性を探る「murmuration」など、独自の表現活動も展開。

Chihiro Sings Talesの作品「月くじらのフォークロア」が新たに収録された音源とともに絵本として発売される。
